Carolina, luchadora

En 1992 Carolina del Pino recibió el Premio Internacional de la Paz. Hasta llegar a ese reconocimiento mundial, su vida fue muy difícil. Como la mayoría de las campesinas de su país bajó de la montaña a la cuidad para trabajar como sirvienta. Desde que murieron sus padres y sus hermanos, Carolina ha recorrido el mundo denunciando el genocidio cometido contra las mujeres de su país. En los últimos años, Carolina ha ayudado a los niños de su país y ha trabajado como enfermera en una organización de ayuda para las personas necesitadas.

Una tromba de agua y viento destroza árboles  y farolas y desborda el río Guadarrama

Una fuerte tromba de agua, granizo y viento cayó ayer sobre la capital entre las 19.20 y las 21.30 h. En algunas zonas, el viento tiró al suelo árboles y farolas, y arrastró algunos coches que estaban estacionados. La carretera N – V tuvo que ser cortada durante 20 minutos. El río Guadarrama se salió de su cauce e inundó algunos túneles y garajes.

Detenidas varias personas en pleno robo

La Guardia Civil detuvo ayer en Valdemoro a dos hombres y a una mujer cuando intentaban robar en un apartamento de la avenida del Mediterráneo. Los atracadores vigilaban los pisos y accedían a ellos cuando estaban vacíos. Luego forzaban ventanas y puertas y desvalijaba los domicilios en menos de media hora. Con anterioridad a estos robos, las tres personas detenidas habían pasado un mes en prisión por robar en una tienda de motocicletas.

Desde hoy el piano de Miguel Catedrales pertenece a Mercedes Bermejo

Mercedes Bermejo, cantante de ópera, es la nueva propietaria del piano que una vez perteneció al músico gallego Miguel Catedrales. La madre de Miguel se lo había regalado cuando aún era un niño, pero lo tuvo que vender cuando las estrecheces económicas acosaron a la familia. Años más tarde, el pianista contrató a un detective para recuperar el piano, y hace una semana que se lo ha vendido a Mercedes Bermejo. La nueva propietaria ha declarado a nuestra redacción que se siente muy feliz y que una parte del dinero que ha pagado por el piano irá a una asociación musical para niños sin recursos.

Premio para un queso español

Un queso de oveja que se fabricó Hace cuatro meses en la empresa española La Vaca Que Sonríe ha  ganado el Campeonato del Mundo en la categoría de quesos cremosos. Esta marca de quesos ya  había conseguido un segundo premio en otro certamen internacional que se celebró el año pasado en Nimes (Francia). El queso ganador se elaboró en la factoría de Fresno de Ribera (Zamora) y su director dio las gracias al jurado por la concesión del premio e invitó a todos los asistentes a degustar el queso ganador.

Nada que declarar

El 30 de julio, Carlos de Vitoria llegó en una avioneta privada al aeropuerto de Sevilla. Carlos aseguró que no llevaba nada que declarar. Cambió de opinión cuando el oficial de aduanas inspeccionó el aeroplano. Entonces admitió que llevaba una diadema con esmeraldas y diamantes que había pertenecido a su abuela María Elisa. “Quizás cometí un error” aseguró ayer, tres años más tarde, después de ser declarado culpable de contrabando.

Muere Feliciano Fidalgo, uno de los grandes talentos del periodismo actual. Vivió cuarenta años de intenso trabajo entre Madrid y París.

Feliciano había llegado a la capital francesa en los años cincuenta. Era un chico de Tremor (León) al que su padre se empeñó en dar estudios. Primero Astorga; luego, el bachiller en la Salle de Valladolid. Y por fin Madrid. Iba para ingeniero, pero lo dejó al primer año: su estancia duró un curso.

Pero era periodista antes de serlo: y acertó con el cambio. En estos años siguió una desastrosa carrera militar en la que se convirtió en alférez de artillería. Al final lo degradaron. No sabía mandar. Tardó todavía varios meses en encontrar su verdadera profesión. Se fue a París con la promesa de la revista SP de publicarle sus colaboraciones. Durante este periodo desconfiaba de todo el mundo y no sabía francés. Durmió en la calle.

Pero Feliciano siempre decía que la razón de su marcha a París era conocer a Samuel Beckett, el autor de Esperando a Godot. Cuando llegó, pasó por Éditions du Minuit y después pidió audiencia con el editor. Cuando bajaba por las escaleras con un “no” por respuesta, le gritaron: escriba unas líneas y yo se las haré llegar. Feliciano y Beckett quedaron una semana después en La Closserie des Lilas, el bar favorito de Hemingway.

Se preocupó de trabajar y así se convirtió, en aquel París de los sesenta en el corresponsal de Ya y la Agencia Logos. Y aprendió a burlar a la censura. En la capital francesa se había hecho corresponsal desde las siete de la mañana a las doce de la noche, o sea, todo el día. Cuando Feliciano volvió a Madrid, en 1985, El País era el diario europeo más admirado en Francia y él había llegado siendo un periodista famoso.

La policía no tiene ninguna pista sobre el autor del asesinato del famoso guitarrista Agustín Jiménez

Según fuentes policiales, el suceso ocurrió el domingo por la noche a las 21.45 h en el aparcamiento del edificio donde vivía el fallecido. Agustín Jiménez había pasado la mañana del domingo con su hermana en la sierra de Madrid y no parecía estar preocupado por nada.

Todo sucedió cuando Agustí estaba aparcando su coche y dos hombres se acercaron a él y lo atacaron por la espalda.

Una vecina que estaba paseando al perro, declaró a la policía que los dos hombres habían lanzado fuertes insultos contra Agustín antes de asesinarlo. La policía piensa que estos dos hombres son las mismas personas que dos horas antes habían cometido un atraco en el piso número 12 del edificio en el que vivía el famoso guitarrista.

Un hombre sufre una agresión a manos de su mejor amigo

Un hombre de 50 años, R. A. H., golpeó ayer por la noche a su compañero de trabajo, E. S. R., en la calle Lugo, según informaron a este periódico fuentes del Servicio de Asistencia Municipal Urgente (SAMUR). Los hechos ocurrieron sobre las 21.20 h enfrene del hotel Casablanca. Unas horas antes, los dos amigos habían celebrado en un bar de esa misma calle el aumento de sueldo del agredido. Después de beber unas cervezas, los dos hombres salieron del bar entre risas y bromas y, sorprendentemente, R. A. H. agredió a su compañero en la cabeza con una lata de cerveza. Cuando una ambulancia acudió al lugar encontró a la víctima en la  calle sobre un banco. Su estado era muy grave, por lo que rápidamente los miembros del SAMUR lo trasladaron al hospital. El último parte médico de esta mañana ha revelado que el herido está mejor y que pronto volverá a casa.

Llegué temprano a la joyería y no había nadie. Llamé al timbre varias veces, miré los dos escaparates y no vi ninguna luz encendida. Mi amigo Pepe me había llamado la noche anterior para decirme que estaba preocupado y que quería contarme algunas cosas. Como  no contestaba nadie, entonces decidí ir al  bar de enfrente para tomar un café caliente con unas tostadas. En el bar hacía mucho frío y solamente había cinco personas. Mientras estaba mirando el periódico, observé que una mujer llamaba a la puerta de la joyería de Pepe Cominos. Esta mujer llevaba una falda larga y una chaqueta a juego con la falda de color verde. La mujer llamó al timbre y u hombre abrió la puerta. En ese momento pensé que esa mujer era una amiga o una persona conocida por Pepe, y que Pepe le había abierto la puerta. La luz seguía apagada y la puerta continuaba cerrada. Todo esto me empezó a resultar extraño y decidí pagar la cuenta y dirigirme a la joyería. Antes de salir del bar llamé por teléfono a la comisaría para informarme sobre otros asuntos que tenía pendientes. Cuando salí a calle, vi que un hombre y la misma mujer que yo había visto antes entraban en un taxi. No pude reconocer al hombre porque estaba lloviendo y tenía sucias las gafas. Por los pelos no pude ver sus caras.

    Te escribo esta carta para decirte que he cambiado de dirección. Hace dos semanas que me he mudado a otro apartamento más grande y desde ayer tengo un nuevo número de teléfono (89 - 233 - 840). Todavía tengo mis cosas guardadas en cajas. Hay un gran desorden por toda la casa, aunque afortunadamente a no escucho mis antiguos vecinos del 4º.

    Siempre me gusta compartir mi vida con los demás, no guardar las cosas para mí sola, dedicar varias horas al día a escribir cartas y a hacer regalos a mis amigos. Cuando tengo una noche libre. Siempre llamo a Brigitte, mi novia. Juntas vamos a nuestra cafetería preferida, que está en la plaza Liberación. Allí tomamos un refresco muy frío. A menudo me apetece contarle las cosas más interesantes que me ocurren durante el trabajo. Brigitte me escucha con atención, abre sus ojos como platos y me sonríe. Me siento feliz.
    El martes pasado me llamó Moisés. Quiere mudarse de piso la semana que viene, y necesita ayuda para meter sus cosas en cajas y llevar sus muebles a la nueva casa. No le digo que la semana próxima es mi única semana de vacaciones en todo el año y voy a ayudarlo.

La prensa española es el medio de mayor credibilidad y el que más contribuye a la formación de la opinión pública. Ésta es una de las principales conclusiones del estudio Influencia de los medios  de comunicación en la opinión pública española 1997 - 1998, elaborado por Ibérica de Comunicación, Análisis e Información (Ibecom). Según este informe, el 72% de la sociedad española confía más en los medios de comunicación que en la Justicia, porque los medios de comunicación vigilan la actividad política y denuncian las situaciones anómalas. Además, la sociedad española prefiere la prensa como el medio informativo de mayor credibilidad y formación.
En este informe encontramos interesantes conclusiones:
Con relación a los periódicos españolas más leídos, el 34% de las personas consultadas considera que El País es el diario más influyente, mientras que el 33% asegura que lo es El Mundo.
Los suplementos dominicales de la prensa diaria <<que más gustan por su contenido y calidad>> son los siguientes: El País Semanal (39%), La Revista de El Mundo (37%), Magazine (27%), Blanco y Negro (29%) y El Dominical (26%).
Entre los diez suplementos semanales más valorados por las personas consultadas se encuentran Crónica, La Esfera de los Libros, Salud y Motor & Viajes, todos ellos de El Mundo.
El Mundo ocupa en Internet, con el 48%, el primer puesto entre los <<mejores diarios y páginas web consultados>>. A continuación figuran El País Electrónico (42%), La Vanguardia (31%), El Periódico (27%), ABC Electrónico (26%), La Estrella Digital (23%) y Reuters (21%).

The meeting at the Tourism Bureau has adjourned and  Director-general Jón has tasked the directors with contacting professionals from the tourism industry to solicit ideas on best practices. Isaac Jón, who presented his ideas of promoting environmental or ecotourism, immediately thinks of Miguel Javier Ajarnaute, who works at the Coosta Rican tourism board. The two met at a conference in Central America last year and struck up a friendship.

Hola, I was so surprised to hear from you after such a long time. I trust everything is well with you there in San José. Thank you for your the Christmas card and calendar. It´s hanging on the wall here and I often catch myself daydreaming of hiking through the lush rainforests of Costa Rica.
Actually, the reason I write is to ask for your advice on promoting ecotourism. We're getting serious about developing our own program here in Taiwan. What were the key attributess to your country's success? I feel that through studying best practices while playing to our strengths - good infrastructure, diversity of our ecosystem, etc. - we can replicate the success Costa Rica and other industry leaders have had.
Many thanks in advance for your suggestions and I hope we can continue to correspond on this matter. Maybe we can get you over to Taiwan one of these days? A lot of people would be interested in hearing from the go-to guy to ecotourism.

As you know, ecotourism has been a real gold mine for us. It comprises a significant portion of our GDP and a great number of our people earn a living from it. I´d say we owe a lot of our success to the grass roots. Of course there´s the monetary motivation, but at the heart of the ecotourism is the belief that everyone involved - host as well as traveler - is contributing something positive to the environment. I can't stress this point enough. So, before you really start promoting your plan, make sure your people understand the importance of the environment in this venture. Moreover, ecotourists are really savvy - not your typical tourists. So you need to provide them with an atypical experience.

I will attach some brochures we put together for our latest ecotourism campaign for your reference. Also, please pass along my regards to Julia and your colleagues there.

Find out how to release your creativity

All of us face problems in the college, at work or at home. Unfortunately, we don't always know how to solve these ones. Our usual solutions may not work in every situation. That's why we need to think creatively. We need to be able to find creative solutions.
Yor may not consider yourself a creative person. But you can still improve you creative thinking. If you can change your thinking patterns, new ideas will emerge. Here below are some ways to boost your creativity.

Obtain Curiosity
Think about things that you do or use every day. Don't take them for granted. Ask, "Why are things done the way they are?" Then think about how they could be done better or differently. Sometimes the best ideas come from combining conventional ones or just modifying them slightly.

Avoid Being Critical at First
When you think of a new idea, write it down - and save it. Don't immediately think, "That idea could never work." Many inventions came from ideas that seemed to be impossible at the time.

Ask "What If"
Our thoughts are based in reality. We know what is true - and what isn't. These thoughts can block creativity. Instead of just accepting what we know is reality, we should ask, "What if these were different?" For instance, "What if those great powers pursue security?" Consequences: There would be a lot more conflicts because they would find that every state has the intention of prevent-striking. Ask "what if" somethimes helps you come up with new ideas.

Daydreaming
Schedule time to relax in your day. Don't try to focus on your thoughts. Just let them go where they will. You may be surprised by the ideas you have.

Take a Break
When you're not making any headway with your porblem, stop working on it. Instead, do something completely different. Then come back to the problem. You'll have a fresh outlook and maybe a new day to slove it.

It is important to celebrate these special events that they symbolize the invisible but significant value of our culture.

The value should be practiced by concrete actions. We receive the value by practicing traditions. The practice of these customs makes up the major part of our culture.

From my experience, I find out that my family and I shared the less happiness during the holidays of Chinese New Year after we purchased the dinner of New Year’s Eve from a catering service company.

The acting of gathering together and honoring ancestors is a core part of tradition of New Year and some people find these activities old-fashioned, but these activities let me remember that we in the modern age would not exist without the gifts of our past ancestors and we should continue that tradition of generosity.

These traditions stabilize our culture because they as a mean deliver the kindness to everyone in the society.

Especially, I am exciting every time when I see the fireworks releasing in the sky. It’s sign of the beginning of New Year.

I believe that celebrating Chinese New Year is a tradition worth preserving.

As family members live further and further apart from each other, it is becomes increasingly difficult for relatives to travel in order to meet together and perform the rituals honoring their ancestors.

What is your motto?

I would say ‘No pain, no gain’ as my motto. It is also a common sense among people who have respective cultural back grounds. It is important to me because it lets me predict how my plan will fail and helps me to improve it in advance. For example, when I prepare for the National Exam, I prepared for the exam with this idea and finally avoid falling behind the schedule. In the end, I became one of those seven who passed the exam in about 250 candidates. Many people find that it is painful to devote their time and attention into what they want to achieve, but it is essential when we want to make it.

What would you like if you can choose to let it happen again?

If I can choose, I want to let what I experienced on June 23th, 2011. It is 11 o’clock at night and my girlfriend, a friend of her, and I were going to go to bed. My girlfriend said to her friend about a new trick that she learned from a website. It was about causing a female ejaculation, say, a squirting.
